Kuenphen Tshogpa – Community Service Club

1.  Introduction

Kuenphen Thogpa is a student-led community service club dedicated to promoting compassion, generosity, and support for vulnerable individuals, especially children with single parents and those in need. The club focuses on providing basic necessities such as shelter, clothing, school supplies, and stationery to help ensure access to education and a better quality of life.

2.  Club Mission

To make society a better place to live.

3.  Vision

To build a compassionate society where no child is left behind due to economic hardship or lack of parental support.

4.  Background Information

We are a small group of college students who are determined to help those students and communities that are less fortunate than us. The founder of our club is Mr. Rajesh Subedi, and the club was established in 2009.

We initiate various fundraising activities such as lotteries, charity walks, and food stalls. So far, these have been our primary sources of income. With these funds, we donate basic necessities such as raincoats, mattresses, solar batteries, slippers, and school bags. We also collect second-hand garments from college students and staff and distribute them to disadvantaged communities.

In addition to donations, we engage in social services such as:

  • Cleaning campaigns in public spaces
    • Value and career education programs in schools
    • Voluntary labor services for community infrastructure projects like lhakhang (temple) construction
