The GNH Club of the College of Science and Technology plays an active role in promoting the values and principles of Gross National Happiness among students and the campus community. The club not only organizes its own activities but also lends support to other clubs during various college events, fostering a spirit of collaboration and unity.
One of the key highlights of the club’s annual calendar includes the celebration of World Happiness Day and GNH Day of Bhutan, where students come together to reflect on the
importance of well-being, mindfulness, and sustainable development. These events often feature talks, art exhibitions, interactive activities, and cultural programs that align with the four pillars of GNH: sustainable development, environmental conservation, cultural preservation, and good governance.
Understanding that cleanliness is a fundamental principle of happiness and well-being, the club also conducts cleaning campaigns in and around the campus. These initiatives not only keep the environment clean but also raise awareness about the importance of hygiene and community responsibility. Furthermore, the GNH Club works closely with the Environment Club, particularly in
organizing tree plantation drives and environmental awareness programs. By engaging in such activities, the club contributes to environmental sustainability, which is a key pillar of GNH.
In the future, the club aims to introduce more innovative programs such as mindfulness
sessions, poster and design competitions on GNH themes, workshops on mental well-being, and community outreach projects to promote the values of GNH beyond the campus as well.
Through its diverse activities and collaborative efforts, the GNH Club continues to inspire students to lead meaningful lives grounded in compassion, responsibility, and holistic development.
